BUDVANSKA RIVIJERA – THE METROPOLIS OF MONTENEGRIN TOURISM
Budva is one of the oldest and most historic Cities on the Adriatic Sea, and boasting some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. The coastal area - Budvanska Rivijera – is the metropolis of Montenegrin tourism and well known for its sandy beaches, diverse nightlife and beautiful examples of Mediterranean architecture.
Apart from the natural beauty of its bay islands and beaches, Budva is rich in historic monuments epitomised by the Monasteries of Stanjevici, Podostrog, Rezevici and Gradiste. The old town lies on a small peninsular and represents a treasure chest of culture heritage. Crossed with narrow streets and squares are its famous buildings, the Church Sv. Trojica, housing the tomb of the writer Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa, the Churches of Sv. Ivan, Sv. Bogorodica and Sv. Sava.
During the summer months the old town transforms into a ‘City Theatre’ with numerous performances by local artistes and shows from abroad, and offers visitors a diversity of cafés, restaurants and galleries.
