Tuesday, 3 November, ABU DHABI (UAE): On the day the U.A.E celebrated Flag Day ADIMSC based Team Abu Dhabi stand on the brink of making history as they bid to win their first UIM Class 1 world title at this weeks’ Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi
Speaking at today’s press conference throttleman John Tomlinson said they were focussed and ready. “It’s a privilege to be representing Abu Dhabi and we head into the next few days knowing what we have to do and we are ready. Every time we go out we give it our best. We have the opportunity to secure the title in the first race and if the opportunity is there we will take it.
“Our plan is to focus on what we have to do and not on what any other team is doing. We are in a great position and need to take control of our actions and must just remain focussed.”
Tomlinson and fellow American Gary Ballough, double race winners’ last time out in Italy, top the points standings with 40, 16 ahead of teammates Rashed Al Tayer and Majed Al Mansoori and T-Bone Stations’s Luca Formilli Fendi and Giovanni Carpitella
Defending champions Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi are a further two points adrift in fourth, with Energima Zabo Racing’s Niclas Johannson and Christian Zaborowski in fifth.
First practice takes place tomorrow at 11.30hrs [local], the second at 14.30hrs.
